| So, Michael didn't like the choice below...
I emailed the lady and she said she would substitute this one instead. I'm happy Michael is interested enough to say what he likes or didn't like, so that's good. I hope he likes this one! It's very dainty and feminine. It's also "something blue"!

I have to get to work!! I'm running a touch late. Have a nice Sunday!
| Got back from my first game at Citi Field today and had such a wonderful time! Eric went with me to the game and we spent a few hours before gametime exploring the new stadium. We walked around, checking out all the stores (well, I did that part...) and all the food (we did this together!), and really loved what we saw! Our seats were good. The Promenade level has a real "upper deck" feel without being as far away. I don't love that, but for the price it's right!
Santana pitched wonderfully, and it was a great pitcher's duel! The Mets won 1-0, so I'm happy to say I'm 1-0 lifetime at CitiField!!
I went out with my mom after the game and we got her a mother of the bride dress, which is very exciting! We're both extremely pleased because we had so much luck getting the dress for a reasonable price and in a size that can easily be altered to fit her very well! Hooray! Another big huge check on the planning list!
While I was at the store (we went to "My Daughter's Wedding II" in Great Neck), I looked at some garters just for fun and because I think I want one and I noticed they were all about $25 - $30. Didn't love any of them but I remember something I saw online so I figured I'd look around a little...
I found this, which I thought was PERFECT, and I ordered it! If I'm going to use a garter at all, can you imagine anything better for me?

| Life is good. I'm planning the wedding and trying not to get too
stressed. It's a very fun and exciting project, and I'm looking
forward to moving in with Michael after. I have a lot to do
today, so I'm keeping this short. It's Saturday and I was off
yesterday to take care of a million things that had to be done during
the work week (eye doctor, ring sizing) but I'm working tonight.
Tomorrow is Evan's 30th bday celebration out in Manhasset so I'll be
back by North Shore to visit my grandmother. She's doing ok
health-wise but not so well mind-wise. She doesn't seem very
frustrated, though, for what that's worth, despite having no idea
what's actually going on in the world or her own life right now. She
seems to have retreated to a place that's happier for her and thinks
things that happened years ago just happened the other day. No harm,
no foul, I say. I need to get my dress altered, but I'm going to
wait until fashion week is over (I didn't even know it was going on) to
call a friend of Iris' about a seamstress for the alterations. I need
to go to the gym even more than I have been (which is about once a
week). And, of course, as always, I need to clean my apartment. And
get rid of things. As much as I've already gotten rid of, somehow it
seems even more cluttered than ever. I don't know how that happens. I'm
just putting off getting the laundry done, so I'm going to stop
blabbing and get to it. Maybe I'll even start updating my blog again.
But don't hold your breath. :)

| Happy New Year to you!!! I've been in NC for the past two weeks, just about, and I've had the most wonderful time here yet! :) Michael and I spent a lot of time with his family, which was very nice, and together here at the apartment, as well as with friends. All in all, it was a great break from work, and a wonderful way to end the year. I'm sad to be leaving tomorrow, but I know we have a lot of exciting things planned for the upcoming year. 2009 is going to be the best year yet! :)
I also managed to snag a few really sweet deals for flights in the upcoming months. Michael got a round trip to NY for a total of $94 round trip. Somehow, American was flying $36 each way before taxes between LGA and RDU. We snagged him one flight and I grabbed another for the long weekend I have in February (which happens to also coincide with valentine's day!!). :) That's such a big difference from what it usually costs, and looking today, I couldn't find anything near that price. Lucky us!
I post most of my pictures now a days on facebook, which is why I rarely update my blog. I recently posted a bunch of old pictures from class photos and other random shots I thought I'd scan in. I moved a whole lot of photo albums down to NC, and Michael was sweet enough to set up the scanner for me. :) It was fun reminiscing a bit.
Hope you had a great end of 2008, and that 2009 brings everything you hoped and dreamed. :) I know I can't wait to see what the future holds! Happy New Year!
| So I got a new bike yesterday! (Which you would know if you're my friend on facebook because I had it in my status the past day or so.) I'm very excited about it and it's already been a lot of fun (and not easy, either!). :)
I rode around a bit yesterday, but nothing really big -- just very locally. Today I decided to put myself to the test and ride all the way across town to the mall. My butt's a bit sore, but I think that comes with the territory. Here's the route I took to and from the mall:
I'm not sure if this map I just cut and pasted from google is going to work on here, but basically what I did was take a pretty direct (3.8 miles) route to the mall, and then take my time coming back (over 5 miles). I knew I was going to have it rough at the end because it was totally down-hill on the way there... and of course completely uphill at the end coming back! I just kept plugging away, and made it home. :) It started raining when I had a little over a mile left to go, but I didn't really mind. I stopped off at a bike store near the mall and got a small rearview mirror, which actually made me feel a lot more secure on the bike.
If my butt can get used to the pressure, I really think the rest of me could benefit from the extra cardio! :) It's pretty fun riding. Now I just have to try to drag Michael out some time to ride with me. (First I tried riding his bike, but it made me way too nervous, even when I lowered the seat a bit.)
Oooh, Michael's leaving work so it's time to start prepping dinner! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
